Its reported that the majority of the players are orphans and do not know about the exact age. The FA also could not afford to perform MRI test for these players due to high cost required though they are able to set some friendlies matches in Brasil.

MALAYSIA TO SEND U19 SQUAD TO PRE-SEA GAMES
PETALING JAYA (26 Sept 2009) – Malaysia will join Thailand and Vietnam in sending only their Under-19 squad to the pre-SEA Games which will be held in Vientiane early next month.
The Malaysians have cited that the reason why they are sending only their U19 team is because the U23 players will be involved in the on-going Malaysia Cup competition.
But the U19 squad will not be totally devoid of players from the U23 team where they will still have the services of six players and they are Ahmad Shakir Ali, K. Gurusamy, Fandi Othman, Muslim Ahmad, Mahali Jasuli and Faizal Muhammad.
“The U19 team will actually be taking part in two competitions where apart from the pre-SEA Games, they will also be in Vietnam for the Thanh Nien Newspaper U21 competition (starting on 9 October 2009),” said Ong Kim Swee, the head coach of the Malaysian U19 team.
“Out of the current squad of 29 players, we will only be bringing around 20 players to Vientiane.”
For the pre-SEA Games, only hosts Laos will feature their U23 team.
For the Thanh Nien Newspaper U21 championship, the Malaysians will be up against the U21 teams of Iran and China in Group B.
Group A are the U21 teams of hosts Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore.
The U19 Malaysian side are preparing for the AFC U19 qualifiers in November in China.
In the meantime, Vietnam have named a squad of 30 players in preparation for the pre-SEA Games in Laos.
The team will be handled by former Vietnam national midfielder Trieu Quang Ha, who has replaced Vo Hoang Buu as the head coach.
"We are still missing some players because they are playing in the national U21 tournament,” said Quang Ha, who will trim his squad to 20 players later this week.
“The young players have a lot of potential and are very good in some positions.”
“Our main goal is to qualify for Asian U19 championship, so the pre-Sea Games tournament is a very good chance for players because they will play against strong opponents.
"After the pre-Sea Games tournament, the coaches will have three weeks to come up with the style of playing and make adjustments for the AFC U19 qualifiers."
For the U19 qualifiers, Vietnam are in the same group against South Korea, Thailand, Laos, Macau and Bangladesh where they will play all their matches in Bangkok in November.

Its interesting to see how the team will fare during these two back to back tourney. Harimau Muda undoubtedly did well in Premier League to outdo other experienced team like Johor Pasir Gudang and T Team but the real benchmark is our neighbouring countries, Thai and Vietnam. Thailand and Vietnam, well known for their strong youth team will show us where we are at this region. We lost to both teams during AFF U19 in Vietnam last month even though played well during semi against Thai. I am not sure whether China will be sending the U19 team during Newspaper Cup since we are in the same group with them in qualifying. Harimau Muda should be able to give fair challenge to the rests considering their good friendlies result in Slovakia.

MSL to be privatised??
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 (Bernama) --
The Malaysian League may be privatised in 2011 if the problems that plagued contending teams continue to persist next year.
Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) secretary-general Datuk Azzuddin Ahmad cited the problems as financial woes (staff and players' salaries), dropped in the quality of the game and dwindling audience."
The Malaysian League's next season will be the FAM's last battle ground to find our way out of the quagmire."
As a result, we have introduced additional conditions to contending teams," he told Bernama.
Among them, the teams would have to pay a deposit to the FAM and produce proofs of their financial standing that would enable them to compete in the current season and the next one.
Contenders in the Super League have to fork out RM150,000 while that of the Premier League, RM100,000.
Super League contenders must prove that they have RM2.5 million in their accounts while that of the Premier League, RM1.5 million."If all conditions are meet and the teams take serious views of the conditions, the future of soccer in Malaysia is bright," he said.
Asked why the FAM had to wait until 2011 to privatise the league, he said it was due to the Malaysian culture.
"Malaysians like to have a dialogue first and only after enough time is given, they will go to the next stage before an action is taken," he said.
Azzuddin called on state affiliates to use the time left to fill up their coffer and take initiatives to beef up their financial standing.

Penang started well in first half but lack of experience denies them from flying high. Kelantan under new coach, B Sathianathan will return to Kota Bharu, awaiting the Kedah for next game.

By DJ

Regional footballers to test new stadium
The Lao Football Federation is cooperating with Lao National Television and the Crossfire Company to host a four nation pre-SEA Games men’s football tournament.
Football-25th SEA Games, LaosThe tournament will see Lao, Malaysian, Thai and Vietnamese footballers play in Vientiane from October 2-6 with the aim of testing the broadcasting system and the facilities at the new national stadium.
Lao Football Federation President Phouvanh Vongsouthi said at a press conference on Tuesday the four football teams are playing an important role in the 25th SEA Games by testing the football field, broadcasting system and other aspects related to the big event.
The press conference reported that tickets for these matches will be sold for 40,000 kip for general admission and 80,000 kip for VIP seating. The money from ticket sales will be used to fund local football in the future.
“The preparation matches will also test the readiness of the Lao national football team for the games in December. I have heard reports from Vietnam that the team has greatly improved, coming out on top in tournaments held there in recent weeks,” Mr Phouvanh said.
The Lao football team is ranked seventh in Asean countries and 174th in the world.
The exhibition games will be named the ‘4-Nations Football Tournament 2009′.
The tournament begins on October 2, with Laos taking on Thailand and Vietnam playing Malaysia. October 4 will feature Malaysia and Thailand , and Laos facing Vietnam , while the last day will pit Laos against Malaysia. Vietnam will also challenge Thailand on this day. Starting games begin at 4:30pm and the second matches will be at 7pm.
Lao National Television Deputy Director General Souvanh Vilaiseng said this will be an opportunity to test broadcasting ability locally and in other countries.
The Lao Football Federation’s goal for this tournament is to help prepare the SEA Games Committee, Lao National Television, and National Stadium staff to train in a live event before the actual games. To help support this effort, the federation appointed Crossfire to manage the event.
Crossfire has linked services with Total Sports Asia, an international media company, to bring in experts from around the world to offer training to SEA Games personnel and to Lao National Television.
Lao National Television benefits by learning international broadcasting techniques to build capacity, and to make this broadcast meet the highest international standards. They are providing the broadcast feed to Total Sports Asia for distribution to Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos and other countries.
Crossfire Company Director Thiphakhanh Vilavanh said the 4-Nations Football Tournament is a defining moment in the history of Laos to demonstrate to an international audience that the country is capable of hosting international quality events.
“We are demonstrating, as Lao people, that we have the willpower and confidence to bring our close neighbours to play in this beautiful new stadium, which is a monument to the new future of Laos,” he said.
During the press conference the Lao Football Federation, Lao National Television and Crossfire signed a cooperation agreement. The company also donated 100 million kip in support of the SEA Games.

An honour to Malaysia for the invitation though it purposely to test the readiness of the new stadium. Apart of the host, the rest will send their U19 squad giving reason of club commitment. Malaysia will be represented by Ong Kim Swee boys that that just returned from slovakia tour. I am not sure whether few Harimau Muda players such as Shakir Ali, Fandi Othman, Muslim Ahmad, K Gurusamy, Mahaili Jusaili and Mohd Faisal will be joining them as they are currently with K Rajagobal side. Though its only exhibition games, the boys must treat it seriously to revenge the defeat to Vietnam and Thailand during AFFU19 last month.

Unlucky Akmal has high hopes

FOR former international Akmal Rizal Ahmad Rakhli, it still rankles him that he has yet to win a major domestic honour.
Three second division medals with Kedah (2002 and 2006) and Kuala Muda Naza (2008) is all Akmal has to show despite turning out for some of the best teams in the country.
Unluckily for Akmal, he left Kedah for Selangor just before his hometown team embarked on their "double-treble" of 2007 and 2008.
It is not something he wants to reflect on as he looks to the future by leading unfashionable Kuala Muda to Malaysia Cup glory when the tournament kicks off on Sept 26.
Akmal Rizal left Kedah just before they embarked on their “double-treble” of 2007 and 2008.
Akmal Rizal left Kedah just before they embarked on their “double-treble” of 2007 and 2008.
Fuelling Akmal's belief in his team is the way Kuala Muda have responded to new coach Nidzam Adzha Yusof in recent friendly matches.
Kuala Muda beat Perlis (5-1) and KL Plus (3-0) and drew 1-1 with Perak and UPB-MyTeam recently and played their final friendly match against Penang in Batu Kawan yesterday.
"The management has set us a target of reaching the final and I think with Nidzam coaching us we are capable of doing it.
"We have not lost a single friendly match so far and we've played all those matches away against Super League teams.
"We may not be many peoples' favourites to make the final but we have to quality to surprise them," said Akmal, 27, who will be looking to add to his nine goals this season and make his third Malaysia Cup final appearance.
Akmal first made the final with Kedah in 2004 when they lost to Perlis 1-0 and again last year with Selangor, who were beaten 3-2 by Kedah.
Kuala Muda parted ways with their coach Stefano Cugurra after the Brazilian could only guide the club to ninth place in their debut Super League season, leaving former Kedah star Nidzam in charge.
They have been drawn in Group D with Selangor, Police and Sabah where they stand a good chance of advancing.
"We are not going to take any teams lightly and it will be wrong to think we only have Selangor to worry about. We have to take each match as it comes," added Akmal.

If you are Malaysia football follower, you will be familiar with this name. Akhmal Rizal Rakhli, 28 years old from Kedah during his teenage time playing for Haguenau FC, France based club and was link to one of the top club there. He was among the batch that was sent to oversea to gain exposure and opportunity to play there together with Rudie Ramli of Selangor and Fadzli Shaari of Pahang attached to S Wehen of Germany. Though posseses some quality techniques as footballer, he has yet to win any major honour. He has been with Kedah, Selangor and now with Kuala Muda Naza to challenge for Malaysia Cup 2009. He also has shocked many by failing to pass the fitness test,a mandatory requirement before eligible to play in MSL after just recovering from injury some years ago. He also lost his position in national team due to long injury suffered and has yet to attract K Rajagobal to be part of national team. At age 28 and with a lot of young talent coming in, I foresee the future of him to make a come back is slim.
Wajah baru Perak

Selain Subramaniam, Mohd.

M Karathu definitely has alot of guts by withdrawing an experience players like Chun Ken Hong and S Subramaniam. Both players, young and aggresive has represented either senior or U23 during B Sathianathan time. I believe M Karathu has strong reason to keep this duo aside when Malaysia Cup is just around the corner. Perak, after massive departure of many senior players at early season has done considerably well in MSL where majority of the players are coming from President Cup. The most notable player is striker, Razali Umar Kandasamy, their top striker. Perak, in Malaysia football history has produced alot of talents among others Indra Putra, Azrul Abu Haniffah, Nizam Adha, and many mores. I predict they will enter quarter final but lack of experience denies them to go far during this coming Malaysia Cup.

Peter Butler left Kelantan after brought the team as runner up of FA Cup 2009. One year spell with Kelantan and his ability to speak Malays will leave mark to Kelantanese Football after so many times have not reach to any Cup Final. Peter Butler, one of his comment slammed Malaysia Football due to much political interference. The rising of Kelantan this year not only contributed by Peter Butler only, but much attributed to alot sacrifice by their Mr President, Tan Sri Annuar Musa. Kelantan now will be headed by state legend, Hashim Mustapha and assisted by Kamarudin Md Noor. I predict Kelantan will enter semifinal of Malaysia Cup 2009 after their defense department has been strengthen by on loan defender from Felda United, Nazrulerwan Maamor. The only hiccup is they lost their skipper, Piya among the best midfielder in Malaysia.

Indonesian Super League (ISL)
Indonesian Super League welcomes a lot of Asian players following its association to introduce 2 + 3 policy. It means that ISL team now can hire 2 asians players apart of another 3 foreign players. Interesting to see how it works. As at todate, most of the targeting players are from Lions City which most of their national players has been offered by big boys like Arema Malang, Sriwijaya, Persipura and so on. Indonesian football is well known with their hardcore supporters and amazing atmosphere that completely different with Sleague. Though the policy says asian players, most of the ISL team are going after Singaporean players probably due to easy to communicate. I am still awaiting Malaysian players to be offered playing in ISL since their team will be playing in Asian Champion League, the highest club competition in Asia. Persik Kendiri and Arema Malang has upset several top teams in Asia during the group match and its not impossible if they can go far next season.
Harimau Muda Hampir Mengejutkan Slovakia

Ong Kim Swee's boys continue to impress us with good result for last friendly during Slovakia tour. The team has improved alot compared to last 2 years when they lost to the same team with 6-0. Players like Irfan, Wan Zack, Thami Arasu, Steven Robbat, Fadhil Shas, Ameer Saidin and Khairul Izuwan are learning fast and gain much experience after been together for quite some time. Next assignment if i am not mistaken is pre sea gamea in Laos, if FAM decide to follow Vietnam and Thailand decision to send U19. Sparring with quality team in more frequent will improve the team alot. Maybe we still have problem in striking force as shown during semi final clash with Thailand last month.

MANAF IMPRESSES RAJAGOBAL
PETALING JAYA (13 Sept 2009) – Striker Abdul Manaf Mamat has impressed Malaysian head coach K. Rajagobal where his two-goal on the weekend helped the Under-23 team to a 5-0 win over Lesotho in a friendly.
“Manaf was with me when I was handling the U16 team (in 2004). I dropped him to give him a chance to develop and show to me what he’s worth,“ said Rajagobal (pix).
The team which is being prepared for the SEA Games in Laos have decided on a series of friendlies in their run-up to the region’s biggest sporting event as opposed to taking part in a competitive atmosphere.
The Malaysians who have been struggling with the strike force of late, were again late off the block when they opened account only in the 43rd minute when striker Zaquan Adha Abd Radzak made good on a defensive error before Norshahrul Idlan Talaha added the second goal a few minutes later.
Substitute Manaf then blasted in two goals in the 83rd and 90th minute as Amirulhadi Zainal then contributed the other for the final score line.

Manaf Mamat, Terengganu striker is another promising player has been introduced by K Rajagobal. Competing in Malaysian Super League partnering with Azlan Ismail and Ashari Shamsudin, Manaf Mamat really made an impact in MSL following FAM decision of banning foreign player. The player was part of Malaysian U19 squad during AFC U19 2006 in India. Then, he was called up by K Rajagobal after main striker, Zaquan Adha suffered ACL during tournament played at Brasil.
Currently, Malaysian U23 that will be competing in Sea Games already have Zaquan Adha, Norshahrul Idlan Talaha, Farderin Kadir, Shakir Ali and A Fakri Shaarani playing in front. Adding Manaf Mamat to the list will create health competition among them. Rajagobal will use Malaysia Cup to finalise the squad.
